Ninety Second Story

Pete started a ninety second story meme over at CarrPeeDiem. He then tagged Lori over at the Commune who decided it'd be real neat if she tagged me, so here I am.

A topic for a ninety second story…

I'm thinkin', I'm thinkin'…

Come on, folks, give me a minute here….

TOPIC: By dancing naked in the moonlight, you are granted one wish, but be careful what you wish for.

Next up is Kristine over at My Midnight Muse.

It took some guts, I don't mind telling you, but I did it and I'm proud! After grabbing the nearest handful of maple leaves to cover my precious bits, I stood before the turban-wearing guy proudly.
"Okay, Genie, I did it ! I ripped off my clothes, tossed aside the undies and bra, and danced the Funky Chicken!
Now, grant me that wish!"

He bowed, and I swear there was a smirk on his face.

"As you wish!"

There was a puff of smoke, and for a second I thought my pile of leaves was in danger, but then, slowly, the thick white clouds parted.

And there it was!

Only . . .

"You dolt! I said YACHT, not YAK!"

The full moon cast shadows over the field. The stones, outlined against the light, seemed bigger than ever.

The warm smell of moss and damp grass soaked into the rough cotton dress cast aside at the edge of the circle.

"Three times clockwise, three times clockwise," Ellie murmured, scared to break the silence. It was time.

The warm night grew chill as she danced, clockwise, weaving in and out around the stones. Their shadows danced with her, writhing, contorting on the ground. Trying, but failing, to break free from their anchors.

The the air grew still. Silence enveloped her.

"I wish to stay here forever."

It was not her wish, but it came from her lips nonetheless.

"Granted," the stones replied, "and welcome."

My first thought was the fact that the wind blew into places I never dreamed wind would blow into, ever. That eventually dimmed in the face of being granted my one wish, ever. The glow emananted from within, and expanded without. And I rode it, like it was a Voodoo god, and put my hands together. And as Shiva, the Destroyer, I danced on the back of a dwarf and destroyed the world.

Yah, I don't know where that came from. I don't want to destroy the world... but it seemed the ultimate expression of power. Plus, as Shiva, it involved dancing nekkid anyways.

My legs were exhausted, not to mention a bit numb, by the time I was done dancing since I didn't have anything ON. Also, I was standing in the middle of an intersection, which is a little bit awkward, let me tell you.

Also Idon't know how to dance, which is why the cop didn't get too close because I probably looked like I was going to do myself in first.

The genie appeared.

"What wish I grant thee?"

"CLOTHES!" I said. "And possibly move me to somewhere else without all these people looking at me?"

"As you wish!"

So he didn't give me clothes, I guess I should have prioritized better, and now I'm in the back of a church and everyone's facing front, and it's just a matter of time before someone turns around and --

(ran outta time. Damn!)
